Here I will show you, how to boost speed of your windows manually. just follow these simple steps.
1) - Go to Run and type msconfig, click OK.
- Select the startup tab, under that just unmark the program you don't want at the startup.
- If there are programs having no name or unknown applications then you must unmark
these prog. because such prog. may be viruses.
2) - Second way is that, use processXp tool.
- Open the processXp, under the explorer.exe process kill those processes which are not usable
such as update scheduler of your anti-virus, windows updates and programs that you are
not currently using.
3) - Use the cleanup utility which will easily found at download.com for cleaning the
wide range of temporary files on your system.
4) - Speed Up Processing Time
Turning off the fancy Windows XP graphics will noticeably increase the speed of your computer.
- Go to Start, (Settings), Control Panel, System. NOTE: You must need to 'Switch to Classic Mode' to see the System applet.
- Go to the Advanced tab. Click the Setting button under Performance.
- Select the 'Adjust for best performance' radio button, then Apply, and OK.
The graphics aren't as flashy, but your computer will run a lot faster.
5) Make Windows Load Faster
- Click Start, then Run.
- Type in 'msconfig' and press enter.
- Click on the BOOT.INI tab at the top.
- Over to the right there will be a box labeled Timeout with 30 in it. Change it that you want.
6) -Set Pagefile size
- Go to Start, (Settings), Control Panel, System. (This is just like the step above this.)
- Go to the Advanced tab. Click the Settings button under Performance.
- Now switch to this Advanced tab, and click on 'Change' under Virtual Memory.
You will see the 'Initial Size (MB)' and the Maximum Size (MB)'.
- Change 'Initial Size' to the same value as 'Maximum Size' then click set.
This setting will help your gaming process by speeding up your computer.
ADDED NOTE: When your computer consumes ur computer's hard drive space and uses it as RAM, then it is referred to as thrashing.
